Documents checklist for a quick loan approval

Lenders approve what they can verify — quickly. When your file is complete on day one, credit teams process it in the same week. When documents trickle in one at a time, the file ages, queries pile up and valuers move on to other jobs.
The universal set (every loan, every lender)
- PAN card — mandatory for reporting; make sure the name matches your bank records.
- Aadhaar card — identity and address proof; keep a mobile-linked copy for eKYC.
- Passport-size photographs — two to four, recent.
- Signature proof — passport or banker's verification, for some lenders.
If you are salaried
- Last 3 months' salary slips.
- Last 2 years' Form 16 or 2 years' ITR acknowledgement.
- 6 months' bank statement of the salary account — with salary credits clearly visible.
- Employment proof — offer letter, employee ID or appointment letter.
If you are self-employed or run a business
- Last 2 – 3 years' ITR with computation of income.
- Audited or provisional financials — P&L and balance sheet.
- 12 months' bank statements of the current account.
- Business proof — GST registration, Udyam certificate, trade licence or rent agreement.
If the loan is secured
- Property — title deed, chain of previous deeds, approved building plan, latest property-tax receipt, society NOC where applicable.
- Vehicle — invoice or RC, insurance papers, existing loan statement for balance transfers.
- Gold — the ornaments themselves; the lender values them in front of you.
Scan everything as clear PDFs the night before you apply. Files that are photographed half-folded on a table are the single most common reason a sanction letter gets pushed to next week.
